About DLOG
About Us
Denver Lyric Opera Guild (DLOG) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the operatic arts by supporting the development of emerging vocal talent throughout Colorado. Founded in 1965, DLOG has played a vital role in fostering artistic excellence by providing financial assistance, performance opportunities, and professional exposure to aspiring opera singers.
Our cornerstone initiative, the annual Competition for Colorado Singers, identifies and elevates promising Colorado-based vocalists, offering substantial awards and mentorship that help launch careers in opera. Since its inception in 1984, the Competition has awarded over $1,000,000.00 in prize money to promising young Colorado singers. In its ongoing mission to support young singers, the Guild has also awarded over $1,000,000.00 in grants to Colorado colleges, universities and young artist programs. In addition to these flagship programs, the Guild engages in year-round educational outreach, collaborative partnerships with local arts organizations, and membership events that promote cultural enrichment and accessibility to the operatic tradition.
Denver Lyric Opera Guild is also committed to enriching its members’ understanding and appreciation of opera through ongoing educational programs. By offering lectures, performances, and curated learning experiences, the Guild fosters a deeper engagement with the operatic arts and cultivates a knowledgeable, supportive community of opera enthusiasts.
Whether you’re a seasoned opera enthusiast or newly discovering its magic, the Guild offers a welcoming space to connect, contribute, and celebrate the power of the human voice.
